The gut of the human body is also called digestive system. It is composed of several parts. It is composed of mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, and large intestine. It is the passageway from which food is passed throughout the human body.

Gut health is very important to maintain a healthy digestive system. Probiotics help to maintain our gut health. They are also called as “good bacteria” found mostly in yogurt and helps in digestion of food.

You can promote your gut health through the following methods:

Take a quality probiotic

Always choose probiotics that maintains your healthy intestinal Microflora. Look for these qualities of probiotics. It must contain 50 to 75 CFU (colony forming units). Choose encapsulated pills because they help bacteria in surviving in the acidic environment of the stomach.

Avoid overuse of antibiotics

Antibiotics kill bacteria. Although harmful bacteria cause certain diseases and problems to human health. So antibiotics are required to kill them. But the overuse of antibiotics kills the useful bacteria that are required for gut health.

Use fermented foods in your diet

Use fermented foods in your diet as they contain probiotics required for your gut health. Avoid preserved ones, as bacteria get killed during pasteurization. The following foods are fermented one’s sauerkraut, yogurt, kimchee and kefir.

Lessen the intake of refined sugar

Intake of refined sugar causes many problems like inflammation, weight gain, and hormonal imbalance. These problems will promote the growth of the harmful bacteria of gut and upset gut health. Avoid use of highly refined sugars like high-fructose corn syrup.
