Micro-Needling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy) is becoming a very popular procedure with results similar to that of chemical peels and some laser skin treatments. Medical Micro-Needling is a safe skin renewal technique used to restore the healthy and youthful appearance of your skin with minimal or zero downtime. We are thrilled to introduce this cutting edge anti-aging treatment to our clients. Micro-Needling is a therapeutic tool for the treatment of aging skin, skin tightening, collagen production, pore size reduction, skin texture improvement, stretch marks, and scarring even from acne.
This is an excellent treatment for anywhere on the body, although it is most frequently performed on the face. Needling can be performed on all skin types, including ethnic skin and fragile skin around the eyes, mouth and neck.
Clinical studies have shown that micro-needling produces channels in the dermis which sufficiently stimulate the body’s natural defenses to repair and produce concentrated amounts of collagen and proteins to the treated areas of skin. This results in thickness in the skin being increased by 80%, smoothing scars, visibly reducing stretch marks and erasing wrinkles.
The Micro-Needling pen uses very fine needles that injure the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin production. Resulting micro-channels also allow the infusion of collagen stimulating products like Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin-C serum or skin lightener for pigmentation. Many clinical studies have proven that serum absorption is increased when applied with micro-needling. Clinical studies have also shown that micro-needling treatments are excellent in increasing the thickness of the skin.
How long does it last?
Microneedling (the service) takes roughly 30 minutes to complete. Collagen rates increase substantially within the first hour of your service being completed, however, clients that wish to receive many microneedling treatments must understand that multiple treatments within a short range of time are not needed unless your condition is severe.
